Things to be Thankful For

We had a great Thanksgiving on Thursday. We ate at around twelve with Jacob's family. All the food was delicious! I'm always partial to the mashed potatoes but everything else was a close second. I felt like I ate a ton but, seeing as how I am also feeding a mini Jacob, I was hungry again like an hour after we ate. This leads me to the first thing I am thankful for this year: being able to eat a big Thanksgiving meal and not have to lay on the couch in pain afterwards. Knowing that I would probably be hungry for dinner, I planned our own little Thanksgiving meal. I am not sure why I thought this was a good idea. It was a lot of work to do by myself. It turned out pretty good though. Except we had no gravy. By the time everything else was finished, I had no energy left to make any. Mashed potatoes aren't the same without gravy. :( I am also thankful for the fact that I only have 5 weeks left! Kind of scared, but thankful. And I am thankful that my blanket is finished! It was harder than I thought it would be. I don't know how my grandma makes so many! Jacob likes the soft fabric so much he wants to steal it from the baby. I think it might be a little too short for him though!

Happy Birthday Jacob!

Tuesday was Jacob's birthday. The big 25! It is really nice that his birthday is on a holiday because we both always have the day off. We slept in, which we both really enjoyed, and then ate some breakfast. Jacob went to the gym, which I would never do on my birthday, and then we got cleaned up and went to the mall. He got some nice new clothes which he wore to work the next day. He wouldn't let me take his picture though! Doesn't he know I need it for the blog?! Jeesh! Anyway, after we went shopping, we came home and I made him dinner. We ate pork chops, rice, and acorn squash. It is the perfect fall meal! It was a great day and it was nice to spend the whole day together. I am so lucky to have such a great husband!

Bon Voyage Seth!

This past Wednesday, my brother reported to the MTC. He is going to the New York, New York South Mission. That includes Bermuda, nice! It is crazy to me that he is old enough to be going on a mission! I feel like I was just that age and all my friends were leaving but they are already all home. He is going to be a great missionary! I am sure he will entertain all his companions and those who he teaches. We will miss him but I am sure it will go by fast. Good luck, big tree! We love you!

Two Months to Go!

I had yet another doctor's appointment today. I feel like I am going all the time! Which, now that I go every two weeks, I kind of am. I got in right away, which is rare, and had a really quick appointment. I asked him when I would be getting another ultrasound, because it has been three months since my last one. He said that they don't really do them this late unless there is a reason because the baby is so big it is hard to see anything. However, since he is very nice and I asked with kind of a sad face, he did a quick one anyway! He switched it over to 3D for part of it so I got to see the baby's face. It's hard to tell from the scanned picture, but I swear he has my nose! And, if you look really closely, I think I see some plump little lips! Either way, he looks like a cute little alien. Only two months till we get to meet him! (If he comes on time, anyway.)

Sorry the picture is tilted all weird. It was hard to make the sonogram paper stay flat.

This is Halloween!

For the entire month of October, I had the opening song from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" replaying over and over in my head. It's a good thing I think the song is catchy. We had a good Halloween this year. There was a dance at school for all the special education classes that my class was in charge of. It was a lot of work setting up but the kids seemed to really enjoy it. I enjoyed the candy. :) We stayed home and handed out candy, which I was extremely overly prepared for. I have two huge bags of candy that are still half full, we only got like twenty kids. Jacob was a scarecrow, and Ace and I were pumpkins. I made his costume out of one of my old shirts. I was pretty proud of my creativity and that I still remember how to use a sewing machine. Our pumpkins turned out pretty well, except that my skeleton's mouth fell off and Jacob's witch lost her broom. I tried using super glue to put them back together and it actually worked! That stuff is amazing! I can't wait to make four costumes next year and I can't wait to have more costume choices. Happy November everyone! Next up, Turkey day!

This is the best picture of Jacob and me. Unfortunately Ace does not behave.
