Happy Birthday Jacob!

Tuesday was Jacob's birthday. The big 25! It is really nice that his birthday is on a holiday because we both always have the day off. We slept in, which we both really enjoyed, and then ate some breakfast. Jacob went to the gym, which I would never do on my birthday, and then we got cleaned up and went to the mall. He got some nice new clothes which he wore to work the next day. He wouldn't let me take his picture though! Doesn't he know I need it for the blog?! Jeesh! Anyway, after we went shopping, we came home and I made him dinner. We ate pork chops, rice, and acorn squash. It is the perfect fall meal! It was a great day and it was nice to spend the whole day together. I am so lucky to have such a great husband!

Bon Voyage Seth!

This past Wednesday, my brother reported to the MTC. He is going to the New York, New York South Mission. That includes Bermuda, nice! It is crazy to me that he is old enough to be going on a mission! I feel like I was just that age and all my friends were leaving but they are already all home. He is going to be a great missionary! I am sure he will entertain all his companions and those who he teaches. We will miss him but I am sure it will go by fast. Good luck, big tree! We love you!

Two Months to Go!

I had yet another doctor's appointment today. I feel like I am going all the time! Which, now that I go every two weeks, I kind of am. I got in right away, which is rare, and had a really quick appointment. I asked him when I would be getting another ultrasound, because it has been three months since my last one. He said that they don't really do them this late unless there is a reason because the baby is so big it is hard to see anything. However, since he is very nice and I asked with kind of a sad face, he did a quick one anyway! He switched it over to 3D for part of it so I got to see the baby's face. It's hard to tell from the scanned picture, but I swear he has my nose! And, if you look really closely, I think I see some plump little lips! Either way, he looks like a cute little alien. Only two months till we get to meet him! (If he comes on time, anyway.)

Sorry the picture is tilted all weird. It was hard to make the sonogram paper stay flat.

This is Halloween!

For the entire month of October, I had the opening song from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" replaying over and over in my head. It's a good thing I think the song is catchy. We had a good Halloween this year. There was a dance at school for all the special education classes that my class was in charge of. It was a lot of work setting up but the kids seemed to really enjoy it. I enjoyed the candy. :) We stayed home and handed out candy, which I was extremely overly prepared for. I have two huge bags of candy that are still half full, we only got like twenty kids. Jacob was a scarecrow, and Ace and I were pumpkins. I made his costume out of one of my old shirts. I was pretty proud of my creativity and that I still remember how to use a sewing machine. Our pumpkins turned out pretty well, except that my skeleton's mouth fell off and Jacob's witch lost her broom. I tried using super glue to put them back together and it actually worked! That stuff is amazing! I can't wait to make four costumes next year and I can't wait to have more costume choices. Happy November everyone! Next up, Turkey day!

This is the best picture of Jacob and me. Unfortunately Ace does not behave.

So Much to Do, So Little Time!

There has been so much going on lately. I keep thinking to myself, "I can't wait till life slows down and I can relax!" Then it hits me. I think I am past that point. The holidays are coming up, which I love, but are usually pretty busy. After that, We will have a baby. Gulp. I definitely won't be able to relax then. Not that I am not really excited. The room is all painted and I am working on decorations. The crib should get here sometime in December. I found fabric for the blanket I am going to make, just have to find the time and motivation to get my sewing machine out and make it. My Halloween costume is almost done. I am going to be a pumpkin. I couldn't find the stuff I needed to be a kangaroo. Jacob is going to be a scarecrow. I am still feeling pretty good, I am just getting tired again. It's really hard for me to make it through the day now without taking a 2-hour nap. I am enjoying them while I can. My belly keeps getting bigger. I can't say I'm too fond of the weight gain. It must all be the baby, right? He does have a name but I don't really want to say what it is until he is born. Good thing there are only about ten weeks to go! Scary!

Viva Las Vegas

This past weekend I went to Vegas with my mom and my sister. We went to get our hair done and then went to "Love", the Cirque de Soleil show at the Mirage that is set to Beatles' music. It was a lot of fun and the drive goes by really quick. Especially when my mom drives. The only bad thing was that it was cold! I'm sure 50 does not seem cold to anyone besides an Arizonan, but it was in the 90s when we left. My poor thin blood could barely handle it. I had to go to Target to buy maternity jeans so I could have a pair of long pants. They aren't the cutest pants but dang it, they were warm. The show was excellent! It is amazing how many times they changed the stage and I didn't even notice when they were doing it. I love the Beatles' songs too! So did the baby. He was dancing around. I think he is going to be a musician. We can have our own family band! :)

Happy October!

My how time flies! I can't believe it is already October. I am super excited though because that means it is almost Halloween. Yay! I have decided to be a kangaroo this year, you know, with the pouch and everything. We are having a dance at school for all the junior high special education programs in Mesa Public Schools which we are having fun planning. Work is anything but boring this semester. There are a lot of new kids, one who likes to escape from the classroom when he doesn't want to do his work, and one who has brittle bone disease so we have to make sure to be careful around him. There is never a dull moment. Somedays I have to work extra hard not to let my pregnancy hormones get the best of me. I am enjoying it though and it makes the weeks just fly by. Three more months and I'll have a child! I was beyond excited when I passed the 100 day mark. Today is 93 and that seems like hardly any at all. We ordered the crib yesterday so that should be here in 12 weeks or less. Hopefully less because I can't wait to have the room all set up and decorated! I am definitely in nesting mode. I have moved on from the baby's room into other areas of the house. I feel like I want to change everything. Come January, We will have a fabulously decorated house!
