The Beans Have Been Spilled

My parents were out walking the other day and my mom referred to the baby as a he so now my dad knows too! Oops! We did manage to go 6 1/2 weeks without him finding out though! It was a valiant effort but I knew he would certainly find out before the baby was born. He seemed somewhat disappointed but it definitely makes things easier for the rest of us. Now I can post whatever I want on my blog! Not that my dad reads it but just in case he ever wanted to, now he can! Here are some pictures for you.

Don't I look super strong?!

24 weeks

The baby's room wall! It only took me like a week. Now what to do with that ugly door?

Jake Jr.?

Lately I've been wondering a lot what our baby is going to look like and I stumbled upon this website called makemebabies.com. You put your face and your partner's, friend's, or a celebrities face and they mash them together to show you what your child would look like. I tried a couple of different pictures of Jacob and me to get the best result. Some of the kids were really creepy looking (think How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days) so I really hope that is not what our son looks like. This is the one I picked that I think might actually be a possibility. Minus the dark hair. You would think they would make him a blond but hair color does not seem to matter. One of the results even had red hair. Anyway, here he is! I have no idea why he is wearing a pirate hat.

Fresh and Easy Rocks My World!

I've had panic attacks before I was pregnant but I am definitely getting them more often now. If I am in a place that has too many people and too much noise, my body just freaks out. I have no control over it which is really annoying. You can see the problem this poses when I go to the grocery store. Normally I go to Walmart which is probably the busiest grocery store, but I have been searching for an alternative to avoid breaking down in public. There is a Fresh and Easy right down the street from my house so I figured I'd try there. I'm so glad I did! You were right Jackie, it's great! There was hardly anyone there, I got a shaded spot right in front of the store, and the prices are pretty similar to Walmart. The meat was a little more expensive but all the other benefits balanced that out. The produce is great, they have more healthy options, and they played good music! I was singing along. It only has self checkout (they help you bag your groceries) so I got to scan my own items. It was fun for me because I like to hear the beeping noise. :) And, they even have $5 off coupons for next week. How great is that?! I will definitely be back next week. Who knew I'd actually enjoy going to the grocery store?

Hooray for Baby Stuff

My stroller and carseat came yesterday! Hooray! The box weighed a total of 44 pounds and I kept wondering how on earth I was going to get that thing in my house. Luckily, I managed to drag it from the carport, across the walkway, and in the front door. It doesn't look very big in the picture, but trust me, it was. Getting all of the stuff out was quite the task too. I had to tip the box over to get anything out. The carseat didn't need any assembling, which I loved. With the stroller, I only had to attach the wheels and the sunshade and such, which wasn't very hard. Now everything is up and ready to go! I just have to paint (well, someone will have to paint) the room and set up the crib and I will be prepared. As much as I can be anyway. Can you tell that I am a little bit excited? Only 18 more weeks until I have someone to put in the stroller! Yay!

Ace isn't sure what to do about this big box!

My stroller, in all it's glory!

I'm Half Way Done!

Today officially marks 20 weeks, the halfway point of my pregnancy. I feel like it was just yesterday that We found out, but it was 16 weeks ago! It really has gone by fast. It's a little scary that the second half will probably go that fast as well and before you know it, We'll have a child! Hopefully We'll be ready. Things are going great though! The baby is healthy and is kicking more and more each day. He/she especially kicks a lot after I eat something sweet, which is now and laters most of the time. I take this to mean that they are going to be like me and have a sweet tooth. Hooray! Jacob will be outnumbered. :) I am already pretty well stocked up on clothes, I went a little crazy after we found out what sex the baby was. We've got a couple of names that We like, but We haven't decided on one yet. Here is my picture that I took today wearing my sweet, sweet maternity pants with my little belly sticking out. I can't wait till I'm finished. :)

What a Little Stinker!

I came home from my first day back at work today (I'll post about that later) and I let Ace in right away because I felt bad that he had been outside all day. And by outside I mean in his own little air conditioned room complete with couch. He's spoiled. Anyway, he'd been inside for barely ten minutes when I hear him chewing on something. It sounded louder than the normal tissues he steals out of the trash. I knew I should go check on him but I just wanted to sit in front of the AC vent and let my swollen hot feet enjoy the coolness. Eventually though, I got up to see what it was. Low and behold I found this:

If you can't tell what that is, it's a raspberry flavored tootsie pop. He had gotten my purse off the bed post, knocked it over, and proceeded to find my candy, take it under the bed and unwrap and start eating it! Now, all of you know how possessive I am of my food. Especially my candy. If I wasn't so impressed by the fact that he got the dang thing unwrapped and gotten my purse off the post in the first place, I would have been really mad! I am however still mourning the loss of my last sucker in my favorite flavor. :( What a waste! ha ha
